Help us continue our mission and support our community. Nominate local businesses for participation in our Pay-It-Forward program that supports local businesses, provides families with something helpful for their situation and actively contributes to a more kind and caring community. Every dollar counts and will make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

 Also known as “kinship care,” a growing number of grandparents are now taking on the parenting role for their grandchildren, thus foregoing the traditional grandparent/grandchild relationship. This often means giving up your leisure time, the option of traveling, and many other aspects of your independence. Instead, you once again take on responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of a home, schedules, meals, homework, and play dates. And if it was tragic circumstances that required you to step into the role of a parent, you'll face many other stress factors, such as coping with your own and your grandchildren's grief. 

Accepts gently used clothing/ baby items and gift cards for local businesses to help with the demands placed on grandparents who have taken on the unexpected responsibility of primary caregiver to their grandchild(ren). Acts as a hub for receiving donations and facilitating delivery  to families at NO COST.

Project Request:

 I'm a stay at home parent. I love volunteering at the kids’ schools, keeping up with the budget and grocery shopping, but cleaning the bathrooms makes me want to tear my hair out. I'm pregnant and can’t change the cat litter or handle particular chemicals and it would be awesome if there was a service who sent you someone to help you clean or just run errands...that would be HELPFUL! Especially for young moms that don't have transportation.

Response: A service like "Mommy’s helpers" could take some of these responsibilities off of your plate, allowing you to focus on the ones that you prefer or feel specifically require your attention. 

Result:

 Mother’s helpers are individuals who give stay-at-home parents a helping hand when they’ve got too much on their plate. The helpful tasks that Mother’s Helpers take on can include:

• Light Cleaning
• Short babysitting stints
• Shopping
• Errands
• Cooking
• Chauffeuring little ones to where they need to go
